Washington Taylor Historical Pint Puce Purple Flask

Description:

First half 19thC. Tiny clamshell fissure interior mouth. Deep puce/plum color is scarce according to the net. Dyottville Glass Works, Philadelphia PA. Purchased from Ruth Webb Lee (the famous early glass author) for $115 on April 23, 1929. Comes with a handwritten, fully signed letter from Ms. Lee outlining the terms of purchase for this very flask. Letter references the McKearins trying to buy another flask. Interesting and historical provenance.
