Shinichi Yamada Impressionist Oil Canvas Painting

Description:

Fine condition and framed, this medium sized oil on canvas is signed lower left and dated 1948. Stretcher size: 20" x 25". Shinichi Yamada (1899-1991) was one of Japan’s most prolific and influential Western-influenced artists of the twentieth century. Trained at the Western painting department of the Tokyo Art School after high school, and in Paris beginning in 1928, Shinichi Yamada studied under Edmond Aman-Jean in Paris, and exhibited his work at the Salon Tuileries in 1929. After returning to Japan, Yamada had a long and successful career painting, organizing exhibits and teaching at the Kyoto Institute of Technology and the Kyoto Womens’ University.
