Antique Native American Sioux Beaded Doll Pair

Description:

Ca. Late 19th to Early 20thC. Very good original condition with only minor wear and one little 1/2" rip on female dress. Beads approx. 98% intact. The dolls were created holding each other and remain connected. Most of these have been separated over time. The horse hair on the female shows loss on the back of her head, and on the male the right braid is unraveled with hair loss. The leather remains very supple, with overall darkening from decades of handling. The female beaded leggings and belt are incredibly intact, as is the males legging beads and "pouch". The facial features are beads as well. Overall a very good example of a rare pair.
